Meet the Community: Introduce Yourself

Hello, my name is Alec (@Edtechiness - Twitter). 

• 🏢  I am a Education Technology Specialist for the Florence Unified School District. I work with teachers and students to integrate technology tool into their classes.
• 🏠  I live and work in San Tan Valley, Az. 
• 📲  I discovered Goosechase while I was still teaching 9th and 11th grade history and have brought it along with me to both show teachers how they can integrate it into their classrooms and provide fun and innovative PD opportunities. I have been using it for 7-8ish years now!
• 💯  At this point, I have hosted ~20 Goosechase experiences and have many more planned for the future!

Hello everyone, 

My name is Erika Durning and I 🏢  work at the University of Connecticut.  I have been with UConn for 10 years. Over the last 7 years my role 💼 has been with managing an online graduate program.  Our MS in Accounting has been online since 2003. Our faculty do a wonderful job of engaging students within their asynchronous courses, but I have been on a mission the last few years to find ways to elevate engagement up to the program level. 

We recently purchased the Goosechase license📲 and I have not yet rolled it out so currently have 💯 run 0 experiences. I figured joining this experience would help me to learn how to use it so I can begin developing my own strategy for its usage with our program. This is my second experience with Goosechase as a participant. My first experience was as part of a conference. I did not invest much time into completing the missions as I learned about it towards the end of the conference, but this experience is what led me to look into Goosechase for our program.

I 🏠 in Canterbury CT, have a dog and enjoy long walks on the beach 😁.  A year or so I began learning how to make bowls by turning wood on a lathe. It has been slow going, but I really enjoy doing it. It is therapeutic for the most part, unless a bowl goes flying off the lathe and irritates me!

It is nice to meet everyone!  I will definitely take some time to learn from others experiences.

Hey y’all, my name is Cathy!

 I’ve been an operator at Itron Oconee for 17 years now… the last 5 years being a gas meter repair operator. 
Secretly hoping to win the lottery to free myself off this dream job. 
 

I live in the upstate of South Carolina.

 I enjoy spontaneous adventures, hiking, kayaking and geocaching. Work gets in the way of all that and it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to get out until the end of last year. That’s when I learned about Goosechase. SC State Parks introduced a scavenger hunt using the Goosechase app and we have been hooked.

Hi, I am representing the Mezcal Moto Rally, a 3-day motorcycle adventure race from Texas to a Mezcal-producing state in Mexico. This year, 16 racers made their way from Laredo, TX to Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico, and collected points along the way, completing the challenges. You can follow the race here.

Hi everyone! My name is MK and I’m the Outreach Administrator for the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts. I’m brand new to Goosechase and I’m hoping to use it to track a loyalty program we’re implementing for our discount ticket program in a fun way and build a community around it.

• 🏢  I’m a former teacher and currently work as a customer success manager for a tech company. 
• 🏠  I live in California! My family lives in Chicago...
• 📲  I used Goosechase to create a fun experience when visiting family in Chicago. I was out on my morning walk in my parents’ neighborhood and saw so many fun Christmas decorations. We always do games for Christmas, and I made a scavenger hunt with all the Christmas decorations. Everyone had so much fun and were talking about it weeks later. My niece said she had used Goosechase in school, and I was intrigued to learn more about how teachers are using it.
• 💯  Just one so far, but since my family is spread out across the country, I think it might be fun to do another scavenger hunt to bring us together virtually. I also think this could be a fun experience for our remote team at work.
